Fujian大力 promotes Fuding white tea
2011-11-05
Xinhua News Agency, Fuzhou, September 30 (Reporters Kang Miao and Li Huiying) — The Fuzhou Promotion Center for Fuding White Tea Culture in Fujian was officially unveiled on the 29th, coinciding with the launch ceremony of the book "Talking White Tea: Empowering Villages and Enriching Farmers." Fuding white tea is poised to become Fujian's next nationwide tea brand, following the renowned Anxi Tieguanyin and Wuyi Rock Tea.
Fujian, a major province in China's tea industry, already boasts two iconic tea brands—Anxi Tieguanyin and Wuyi Rock Tea—which have captured national attention. As the birthplace of white tea in China, Fuding is not only the country's largest production area for white tea but also its leading export hub, earning it the prestigious title: "White Tea of the World is in China, and Chinese White Tea is in Fuding." Yet, despite its global reputation, Fuding white tea has historically remained relatively unknown outside its home region.
