We learned from the Fujian Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision that recently, the National Standardization Administration Committee issued a document commending the seventh batch of nationally recognized outstanding agricultural standardization demonstration zones and their exemplary workers. Notably, the "Fuding White Tea Cultivation Standardization Demonstration Zone" was awarded the title of "National Outstanding Agricultural Standardization Demonstration Zone."
White tea is one of China’s six major tea categories, with a long history of production. It originates from Mount Taibao in Fuding, Fujian Province. Today, the primary production areas are located in Fuding City, Fujian Province, where white tea has become a traditional specialty and a key pillar of the local agricultural economy. Renowned globally as "White Tea in China, and Chinese White Tea in Fuding," this tea is celebrated for its natural processing method—no frying or rolling—which ensures that the tea retains maximum levels of its nutritional value. As a result, it stands out as one of the most pristine, authentic, and health-conscious tea varieties available.
The Fuding White Tea Standardization Demonstration Zone began construction in 2010. After three years of demonstration efforts, the zone has seen significant increases in both economic and social benefits. Over the three-year period, the zone achieved a total output of 709 tons, generating a total value of 87.207 million yuan. The demonstration initiative involved 600 households across a 2,000-mu area, with white tea yields reaching 173 kg per mu—representing a 16.9% increase compared to previous levels. As a result, tea farmers experienced an average annual income boost of more than 706 yuan per person.
