May 6: Recently, a filming crew from CCTV Channel 9's documentary series visited Fuding to shoot the upcoming large-scale documentary titled "Tea" (provisional title).
At the filming location inside the historic Mei family residence in Bailiu Village, Diandou Town, the crew conducted comprehensive, detailed on-site coverage and interviews with Elder Mei Xiangjing, the inheritor of Fuding White Tea’s time-honored handmade production techniques—a national-level intangible cultural heritage. The footage captured every step of the traditional white tea-making process, including tasks like withering, drying, pile fermentation, and charcoal-roasting.
Bailiu Village boasts a deeply rooted tradition of preserving ancient white tea-making methods, with nearly every household in the village relying on white tea production as their primary livelihood.
