Tea farmer Su Fengzhu shared with the reporter that this year she has dedicated her more than three-mu plot entirely to cultivating "Fuding Dabai" tea seedlings. She began grafting on October 1 and has already completed nearly two mu of planting so far.
Su Fengzhu also told reporters that in recent years, with the continuous promotion and marketing of the Fuding Dabai Tea brand, the 'Fuding Dabai Tea' tea seedling variety has gradually gained popularity in the market, becoming a favorite among tea farmers in central and western regions—thanks to its promising market prospects. For ordinary tea farmers, the 'Fuding Dabai Tea' seedlings stand out for their strong adaptability, high survival rate, and excellent quality, making them easy to cultivate. Moreover, from a profitability standpoint, growing these tea seedlings proves to be quite lucrative: last year, the average selling price of her 'Fuding Dabai' tea seedlings reached 1.2 cents per plant. On just one mu of land, she managed to produce nearly 300,000 seedlings, enabling her to earn over 50,000 yuan annually from this single crop. As a result, many local farmers have successfully embarked on the path to prosperity by cultivating these premium-quality tea seedlings.
It is reported that Bailin Town, a major tea-producing town in Fuding City, has seen local tea farmers capitalizing on its exceptional geographical conditions and rich ecological environment to vigorously promote tea cultivation in recent years. They have meticulously standardized the selection and breeding of tea seedlings, successfully producing over 500 mu of high-quality seedlings annually, including varieties like "Fuding Dabai" and "Fuding Dahao."
