On February 25 (the 16th day of the first lunar month), the first batch of white tea from the 100-acre ecological tea garden at Longtinggang in Kongyu Village, Dingtou, began harvesting. With the early-maturing varieties like "Zao Fengchun" and "Xiao Zaicha" already being picked, new tea varieties across our city will soon enter their respective harvesting periods. Visiting his ecological tea garden, the reporter witnessed a vibrant scene: tender green tea buds were sprouting eagerly on each tea plant, while more than ten skilled female tea pickers swiftly gathered this year’s first spring harvest, officially kicking off the 2013 spring tea-picking season. Kongyu Ji shared with the reporter: "This year marks an early spring—spring arrived earlier than usual. Plus, thanks to the abundant rainfall we had at the end of last year…"

With the picking of early-maturing varieties like "Zao Fengchun" and "Xiao Zao Cha," new tea varieties across our city will gradually enter their harvesting season.

　　The author observed a vibrant, thriving scene in the eco-friendly tea garden: tender green tea buds were eagerly sprouting on each tea plant, while more than 10 female tea pickers skillfully raced to gather this year's first batch of spring tea, marking the official start of the 2013 spring harvest.

　　Ji Kongyu told the reporter: "This year marks an early spring—spring arrived unusually early. Plus, thanks to the abundant rainfall at the end of last year and the relatively warm temperatures after the Lunar New Year, conditions have been exceptionally favorable for tea bud development. As a result, this year's first flush tea is about half a month earlier than last year. Today, while the weather remains dry, we’re rushing to start picking—it’s expected that more than 10 people will manage to harvest over 10 kilograms of green tea on the first day alone. This early opening of the spring tea season is also the earliest in nearly five to six years."

　　It is reported that since February 25, new spring tea varieties from villages such as Bailiu, Wengxi, Daping, and Juzhou have entered the harvesting period. If the weather remains favorable, the town expects a large-scale harvest of early spring teas like Zaofengchun, Xiaozaocha, and Fuyun No. 6 around the end of this month or early next month. However, full-scale production and market availability will still take about 20 more days.
