Bailin is renowned both at home and abroad not only as the hometown of "Bailin Gongfu" tea and a major tea-producing town, but also for its favorable climate and pristine environment, which have drawn attention from tea companies based elsewhere. In recent years, with the support of Bailin Town's proactive policies, local tea enterprises have not only thrived and expanded but have also successfully attracted well-known out-of-town companies like Tianding to set up operations in Bailin, further boosting the town’s thriving tea industry.

Yu Rongxiang: Should Definitely Contribute to the Tea Industry in My Hometown

"As a native of Bailin, I feel it’s my responsibility and duty to contribute to the development of the local tea industry," says Cai Liangsui, Chairman of Fujian Yurongxiang Tea Industry Co., Ltd. Driven by this conviction, Cai Liangsui established his tea company in 2001 in his hometown village of Kengliyang, Bailin Town. After a decade of growth, "Yurongxiang" has now become a provincial-level demonstration enterprise for agricultural product processing and a leading agricultural industrialization enterprise in Ningde City.

As the company grows, it’s also helping villagers become financially prosperous. Villager Lei Landi told reporters that picking tea for Yurongxiang Company earns him 20,000 yuan each year. In Kengliyang Village, there are many other farmers like Lei Landi who’ve grown wealthier thanks to tea cultivation.

Cai Liangsui started a tea business in his hometown, driven not only by his desire to contribute to the development of the local tea industry and help fellow villagers become wealthier, but also by his deep appreciation for Bailin's lush green mountains and clear waters. It’s reported that over 50% of the tea produced by Yurongxiang is exported to the European Union, which means the company has exceptionally high standards when it comes to ensuring tea safety—specifically, strict limits on pesticide residues. Located at an altitude of 500 to 800 meters on the eastern foothills of Mount Taibao, the village of Kengliyang enjoys an ideal environment and climate, providing the perfect "soil" for cultivating premium-quality tea leaves.

Tianding: "The White Swan" Widely Popular in the Market

It’s widely said that white tea offers excellent health benefits, yet its flavor is often too subtle. On the other hand, while Tieguanyin boasts a rich, robust taste, its health-promoting properties aren’t quite as strong as those of white tea. Last year, however, Tian Ding Tea Industry Co., Ltd. in Fuding successfully developed “Bai Tian’e” tea—a unique blend that combines the crafting techniques of both Fuding white tea and Tieguanyin. This innovative tea captures the aromatic essence of Tieguanyin while retaining the remarkable health benefits of white tea. Since its launch, it has quickly become a favorite among tea enthusiasts. Today, on the market, each pound of “Bai Tian’e” commands a price as high as 6,000 yuan.

"The 'White Swan' tea has been successfully developed and has quickly become a market favorite. Beyond its exceptional brewing techniques, a key reason for its popularity is that the tea leaves are entirely sourced from pristine, pollution-free high-altitude mountains situated at elevations over 500 meters. 'I chose to establish my business here—first, because Bai Lin is renowned as the home of 'Bai Lin Gongfu' black tea; second, I was drawn to this region's ideal tea-growing environment,' says Shi Zhengge, Chairman of Fuding Tianding Tea Co., Ltd. Driven by this vision, in 2009, Shi Zhengge, a native of Diandou, decided to withdraw investments from elsewhere and set up his own tea enterprise right in Guoyang Village, Bai Lin Town.'"

Currently, Tianding Tea Industry has over 20 chain stores spanning cities like Guangzhou and Shanghai. Moving forward, the company will also focus on developing white tea-infused pillows.

Green Edge: Steadily exploring and advancing on the path of improvement

“People often say that love grows with time, but I’m determined to make white tea and its drinkers fall in love at first sight,” declared Geng Zongqin, Chairman of Fuding Lüyuan Tea Company, as he vowed to revolutionize the craftsmanship behind Fuding white tea. He emphasized that Fuding white tea must undergo significant process improvements if it hopes to expand its reach and secure a brighter future.

“The principles of ‘Tixiang, Tichun, Tiguan’—these are how the philosophy behind crafting ‘great white tea’ has become deeply embedded in Lüyuan’s tea-making culture. We’ve invited expert professors from the Research Institute of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University to collaborate on development, and every year we’re actively exploring and experimenting with cultivating new tea varieties to diversify our product lineup. Lüyuan continues to steadily advance on the path of refining and improving white tea production techniques.”

“Green Yuan Tea Industry’s white tea is primarily exported to the EU, and the fact that white tea isn’t easy to store also puts demands on refining our production techniques.” It’s understood that Green Yuan’s teas have been consistently sold for years to markets in the EU, the U.S., Japan, and Southeast Asia—earning widespread acclaim from consumers both at home and abroad. “We export over 6,000 orders annually,” says Geng Zongqin with confidence, “and right now, we’re actively exploring and innovating our crafting methods. I’m sure more and more people will come to love white tea in the future.”
